Dietrich Dresel

Johann Dietrich Dresel (born July 17, 1785 in Schweflinghausen (Westphalia); † April 27, 1855 in Münster (Westphalia)) was a German wine merchant and member of parliament.

Dresel was the son of the factory owner Johann Dietrich Dresel (* July 1758 in Breckerfeld; buried September 1, 1802 in Schwelm) and his wife Maria Elisabeth Rutenbeck, née Korte (baptized March 13, 1753 in Schwelm; † April 13, 1794). Dresel, who was a Catholic denomination, married Hermine nee Marrien (* 1791 in Meppen; † April 15, 1820 in Geisenheim) in 1811/12. After the death of his first wife, he married Margarethe Henriette Luise née Ebhardt (born December 2, 1797, † September 20, 1847 in Geisenheim), the daughter of the Chamber of Accounts director Georg Heinrich Ebhardt, and the second marriage in Wiesbaden on December 23, 1821 Johanette Christiane Schmidt.

Dresel was a wine merchant in Geisenheim. From 1846 to 1848 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Land estates of the Duchy of Nassau , elected from the group of tradespeople (free-spirited democratic). Dresel was part of the so-called Hallgarten Circle and was a participant in the Heidelberg Liberal Assembly in 1848 . He was a member of the pre-parliament .
