Dietrich Schnabel

Dietrich Schnabel (born December 19, 1968 in Schorndorf ) is a German conductor and composer .

Schnabel studied conducting and musicology in Cologne and Weimar . Since 1994 he heads freelance recorder ensembles , including The Recorder Consort Dortmund , The Recorder Orchestra Sankt Augustin , The Recorder Ensemble Garbsen and Württembergische Blockflötenorchester .

For a few years he has been working closely with the English conductor and composer Eileen Silcocks. She directs the Scottish Recorder Orchestra , with which Das Recorder Consort Dortmund gave a community concert in 2008.
