Dietrich Wagner (bailiff)

Dietrich Wagner , currently also Diederich Wagener , (* 1609 ; † November 12, 1668 ) was a Brunswick-Lüneburg bailiff of the Walkenried monastery . He is the progenitor of the noble family of Carl Burg .

Life

According to tradition within the family, he is said to have been born in Westphalia and can be proven to have been court master in the service of Count von Hohenstein-Sayn in 1641. In addition, it is said to have been installed as a bailiff in the Lohra office . He later moved to Walkenried as a bailiff .

On December 3, 1655, he acquired the manor in Sundhausen , later Carlsburg, from Halberstadt canon Ludwig von Bieren for 6,000 Reichstaler . As a result, he got into enormous debt and had to do with the tedious payment of the purchase price and increased debts in the last years of his life.

He died at the age of 59 and was, appropriately, buried in a hereditary funeral under the tower of the Evangelical Church in Sundhausen.

Dietrich Wagner was married to Anna von Eldingen and her second marriage to Anna Sophie Schönebeck. His first marriage resulted in two sons and two daughters, including Bodo Dietrich Wagner, who was born in 1659 and died in 1703.
