The Quellesiedlung , sometimes also referred to as the Quelle settlement , is a settlement south of Westerode in the urban area of Bad Harzburg in the Goslar district.

The spring settlement is located directly to the west of the Fuchshöhlen forest and east of the Haberlahkamp corridor . It is located on the northern slope of the Butterberg , which is a natural barrier between the town and Bad Harzburg city center. An unnamed field ditch begins in the spring settlement and flows into the Kattenbach . The track bed of the disused Heudeber-Danstedt – Bad Harzburg railway runs through the settlement .

history

Even before the settlement was founded, there was a train station on the Heudeber-Danstedt – Bad Harzburg railway line on the settlement area, which, however, lost its importance in 1958 when passenger traffic was discontinued. In 1973 goods traffic was also stopped on this route.

The settlement was founded in 1965. The name is derived from the striking and monotonous development of prefabricated houses from the Quelle company , which placed all the houses in the streets Fuchshöhlenweg , Kiefernweg and Am Streuerkamp south of the former railway line.

The western boundary forms the district road K 30 (Sandstrasse; Bad Harzburg - Westerode - Bettingerode - Lochtum ), at which four branch roads branch off into the spring settlement. The district road can be walked in both directions via a footpath. A well-developed dirt road branches off to the east, which leads in the direction of Heinisches Bruch / Harz.

The Quellesiedlung is approached by the 821 bus, it stops at the Westerode-Bahnhof bus stop on Kreisstraße.
