Ottenhai is a settlement in the urban area of Bad Harzburg in the Goslar district .

geography

Ottenhai is exposed east of the city center on the Kattenbach , a feeder of the Ecker . The Schimmerwald joins directly to the east of the village . The settlement is connected to the state road L 501 via a spur road (Ottenhaistraße) , which leads west to Bad Harzburg city center and east to Eckertal and Stapelburg and has a bus stop named after the street. To the west is the campsite Die Wölfe vom Wolfstein e. V. and a horse farm.

history

A mention for the year 1666 is certain. The Otten tribe probably goes back to the name of the charcoal burner who founded this settlement. -hai is a locally common field name; it is a looped form of grove .
