Dietrich Freiherr von Gumppenberg (born July 16, 1941 in Meiningen ) is a German entrepreneur and former politician ( FDP ). His full name is Hans-Dietrich Marquard Anton-Ulrich Joseph Clemens Stephan Freiherr von Gumppenberg .

Life

Dietrich von Gumppenberg comes from the noble Gumppenberg family .

In 1980 he founded the PR agency wbpr Gesellschaft für Public Relations und Marketing mbH based in Unterföhring and became its managing director .

politics

Gumppenberg was one of the initiators of the Political Ash Wednesday of the Bavarian FDP in Bayerbach in 1983 and subsequently organized it fifteen times.

In 1990 he moved into parliament for the FDP in the Bavarian state elections, in which he remained represented until 1994. He was the economic policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group .

In the state elections in Bavaria in 2008 , he ran unsuccessfully as a direct candidate in the Landshut district after he had only been able to win one replacement place on the FDP list for Lower Bavaria. He caused a regional sensation in the state election campaign with his beer mat campaign. He was initially not elected, but on February 1, 2012, he succeeded Franz Xaver Kirschner in the state parliament.

In 2013 he achieved a result of 29.4% in his home town of Bayerbach , but left the state parliament because the FDP was unable to overcome the five percent hurdle .

In January 2019 he left the FDP after 38 years.
