History and architecture

The Dietrische Villa was built for the paper manufacturer Oscar Dietrich in the immediate vicinity of his factory on the hillside between Markwerbener Straße and Straße Am Mühlberg. It is an irregular, two-storey brick building built in the style of historicism with corner blocks, stone cornices, gable tops and numerous other details such as an imposing bay window with a high helmet attachment. The castle-like character is emphasized by an enclosed garden and an elaborately designed terrace area facing the hall.

The ground floor was mainly in the style of neo-Gothic and neo-baroque (motifs from the Rococo designed including). The building has a stairwell with wrought iron railings, marble slabs and painted, carved or stuccoed moldings; Furthermore, there are two large halls on the ground floor and on the upper floor, which were used as living room and dance hall, a master bedroom and a two-storey winter garden .

After the Second World War , the town of Weißenfels acquired the house and rented it to the Banner des Friedens shoe factory , which used it as a clubhouse . After the German reunification , the building stood empty for several years until it was bought by a regional entrepreneur in 2010. After renovation , the building is used again as a residential and commercial building.
