Dilated Peoples is a hip hop group from Los Angeles , USA, founded in 1992 . It consists of Evidence , who acts as a rapper and producer, the rapper Rakaa Iriscience and DJ Babu , who is also a member of the Beat Junkies.

They are mainly known in underground hip hop, but they were hardly known in the mainstream apart from the song This Way , a collaboration with Kanye West .

Career

In 1992 they recorded the album Imagery, Battle Hymns & Political Poetry , which has never been released on a regular basis and can only be found as a bootleg .

In 2000, they released the album The Platform after signing a deal with Capitol Records . The following year, Expansion Team was released, which included the Alchemist-produced song, Worst Comes to Worst .

Their third album, Neighborhood Watch , was released in 2004 and included the two singles This Way with Kanye West and Who's Who , which could be heard on the Need-for-Speed: -underground soundtrack, among others.

Her album 20/20 was released in 2006 and included, among other things, the single Back Again , which was produced by The Alchemist and was also featured in the soundtrack for the video game Fight Night Round 3 . The name Dilated Peoples (in English "extended peoples / people") comes from the fact that their name was first "Dilated Pupils" (enlarged pupils), which they had to discard due to a dispute over the copyrights of this name.
