Dimitris Karagiannis

Dimitris Karagiannis (* 1956 ) is a computer scientist and university professor at the University of Vienna .

Live and act

After studying computer science at the Technical University of Berlin and several stays in the US and Japan Karagiannis from 1987 to 1992 division manager for corporate information systems at the Research Institute for Applied Knowledge Processing in Ulm . Since 1993 he has been a full professor at the University of Vienna , where he heads the Knowledge Engineering research group at the Faculty of Computer Science. He is the university founding father of the consulting and software company BOC Information Technologies Consulting, which mainly operates in the Central Asian continent. He has also authored two books on knowledge-based databases and numerous other publications.
