In 1954 she married and after the birth of her two sons (1956 and 1958) lived in the canton of Aargau in Berikon until the family moved to the USA for a temporary stay in 1966 for two years . There she began her artistic training, which she then completed intensively from 1967 to 1976 at the Zurich School of Applied Arts .
