Dindori is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh . The city is located in the eastern part of the state and near the geographic center of India.

The city is the administrative seat of the Dindori district of the same name . Dindori has the status of Nagar Panchayat . The city is divided into 15 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 21,323 inhabitants, of which 10,864 were men and 10,459 women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 89%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 84.94%, well above the national average.
