Diogo Infante

Diogo Infante (born May 28, 1967 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese actor .

Life

Infante attended acting and theater courses before making his stage debut in the role of Edmund in a production of William Shakespeare's King Lear . He made his feature film debut in 1992 with a supporting role in Ana Luísa Guimarães ' award-winning drama Nuvem .

He became known to a wide audience through his participation in the popular Portuguese television series A Banqueira do Povo (1993), which was followed by further appearances in the series Na Paz dos Anjos (1994) and Tudo ao Molho e Fé em Deus (1995).

The leading role of Jorge in Luís Filipe Rocha's historical drama Feuerzeichen (1995) earned him his first nomination for the Portuguese media prize Globo de Ouro . He won it for the first time in 1997 for the fantastic comedy Mortinho por Chegar a Casa (1996, D: George Sluizer / Carlos da Silva ), in which he can be seen as a Portuguese immigrant returning to his home country after his accidental death in the Netherlands. Two more times he received the award for the feature film Pesadelo Cor de Rosa (1999, D: Fernando Fragata ) and the television series A Jóia de África (2004).

His knowledge of English and French also gave Infante roles in international co-productions, including the German TV film Two Girls on Mallorca - The Hottest Night of the Year (2000, D: Dror Zahavi ) and Roselyne Bosch's science fiction thriller Animal (2005).
