Diploaspis is an extinct genus from the order Chasmataspidida within the jaw-claw bearer (Chelicerata).
features
The preabdomen is almost rectangular in shape, just like the prosoma , and about the same size as the prosoma, which ends in short spines on the sides. The post abdomen tapers slightly towards the rear. The telson is rounded and ends in a small spike.
Locations
Representatives of the genus Diploaspis were found in Germany .
Systematics
A synonym for Diploaspis is Heteroaspis Størmer, 1972 . There are currently two types:
- Diploaspis casteri Størmer, 1972
- Diploaspis muelleri Poschmann, Anderson & Dunlop, 2005
