Diploaspis muelleri is an extinct species from the order Chasmataspidida within the jaw-claw bearers (Chelicerata).
features
The prosoma is almost rectangular and ends in short, slightly inwardly curved spines. The 1st opisthosomal segment ( sclerite ) has a single row of round tubercles that extend the entire length. The preabdomen is almost rectangular in shape, about the same size as the prosoma and least of all, in contrast to the rest of the body, has round tubercles. The posterior margin of the preabdomen is concave. The post-abdomen tapers slightly towards the rear and is decorated with elongated tubercles. The telson is rounded and ends in a small spike.
etymology
The specific epithet was chosen in honor of Peter Müller, who found the first specimen of the species.
Locations
A total of 4 specimens of the species were found near Hombach in the Westerwald , Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany .
