In the automotive trade sector, direct acceptance (or dialog acceptance ) means the joint acceptance of the vehicle by an employee, usually the service advisor , and the customer before a repair order. As a rule, the direct acceptance is carried out before regular inspections in order to bring the customer closer to the technical maintenance status of various vehicle components and to better understand any complaints.

The actual part of the building in which the receiving vehicle shop is located is also referred to as direct acceptance.

procedure

In most cases, the need for and the desire for a joint direct acceptance are inquired at the customer when the respective order is scheduled by the scheduler of the car dealership or the repair shop. If the customer wants a direct acceptance there, the repair date is usually planned in such a way that the detailed acceptance on the vehicle can take place on time before the actual workshop visit.

Direct acceptance is usually carried out on the day the vehicle is delivered in the function hall of the same name, which is normally located separately from the workshop near the customer service. There the car is lifted by means of a lifting platform that is often installed at ground level , and the actual direct acceptance begins: on the jacked up car, the service advisor and the customer take a look at various components that the customer usually does not see outside of the workshop. A diagnostic checklist, which is available in many modern companies on a tablet computer , usually serves as a guide for the process of direct acceptance .

As part of the acceptance, various individual parts of the axle suspension and steering ( shock absorbers , wishbones , axle boots ), the vehicle tires and the brake system are checked. In addition, the inspection of various lines and hoses for possible marten damage and leaks is part of the direct acceptance, as well as the windscreen wipers , the fluid levels of engine oil , windscreen washer fluid and coolant and often the vehicle lighting. A visual inspection of the body for damage is also part of the scope of direct acceptance.

Customer complaints such as a grinding noise from the area of the axle can usually be understood in the context of the direct acceptance and thus better taken into account for the subsequent stay of the vehicle in the workshop.

Furnishing

Modern direct acceptance today are mostly equipped with a cupboard in which the accepting service advisor can access various utensils to check the vehicle in advance. This includes various tools such as screwdrivers or hammers, but also cleaning and care products. Often the respective service company also displays various merchandise items or accessories in a showcase in the direct reception area. Depending on the season, complete bikes are usually part of the equipment of a direct acceptance.

In many direct assumptions there is also a so-called parts wall, on which the customer can see when the respective component is worn using worn and new components of a vehicle. Typical spare parts are a defective and a new brake disc or an old and a new air filter insert .

Psychological aspects

As part of the direct acceptance, the personal relationship with the service advisor gives the customer a good feeling and thus usually increases loyalty and satisfaction with the company. By jointly accepting the vehicle, the condition of the vehicle can be discussed in a relaxed atmosphere and additional income can easily be generated, for example in the case of worn brakes or tires.

The joint inspection of the car and the possible localization of an existing problem as part of the direct acceptance can also prevent the customer from having to return to the company due to repeated repairs.
