The certified automotive service advisor (GASB) is a professional qualification in the automotive industry. The certified automotive service advisor plays a central role in automotive service. In order to be able to train as a certified automotive service advisor, the following requirements must be met:

  • Successfully completed vocational training,
  • Employment in a car dealership whose manufacturer / importer is certified to qualify as a certified automotive service advisor
  • Passing a vehicle technical entrance test (test does not apply if you have completed further training as a master vehicle technician).

Duration of training

Basically, the qualification takes place according to precisely defined specifications in the companies of the motor vehicle trade and in the training centers of the automotive industry or at the service provider.

The duration of the qualification is:

  • in the car workshops at least 6 months,
  • in the training centers of the automotive industry at least 20 seminar days.

exam

At the end of the qualification measure there is a standardized final examination. The implementation is the responsibility of the manufacturer / importer. The exam consists of a written and a practical part.

graduation

The successfully completed final examination is documented by a nationwide industry certificate. This certificate, carried by the associations of the automotive industry ( ZDK / VDIK / VDA ), gives the graduate the status of a professional and certified automotive service advisor.
