The Direct Democratic Party of Switzerland (DPS) was a small Swiss party that existed from 2012 to 2017 and was then incorporated into the PNOS .

history

Party formation

The Direct Democratic Party of Switzerland was founded on July 28, 2012 in Brunnen in the canton of Schwyz . Ignaz Bearth was elected first party president . A party board of nine and a vice presidency of four were also elected. At the time of its founding, the party is said to have had forty members. On the occasion of the founding of the party, the following goals were stated: no EU accession, freedom of expression preserved, stopping Islamization , low taxes, optimized asylum policy and cooperation between “European homeland-loving parties”.

Connections to PEGIDA

Known to the public, the DPS was, as party president Ignaz Bearth in January 2015 because of his right-wing past, bundesanwaltschaftlicher investigation and probably bought Facebook - Likes as spokesman for the Pegida resigned Switzerland.

National Council elections 2015

The DPS has announced that it will run for the National Council elections on October 18, 2015 in the cantons of Solothurn , St. Gallen , Thurgau , Bern and Zurich . The DPS in the cantons of Solothurn (0.7% share of the vote), St. Gallen (0.1% share of the vote) and Thurgau (0.2% share of the vote) took off, with modest success.

In June 2017, DPS merged with PNOS . For this purpose, the DPS was dissolved and included in the PNOS.
