Discocactus fariae-peresii is a species of plant in the genus Discocactus in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet fariae-peresii honors the explorers Bento Paschoal de Faria and Adilson Peres.

Discocactus fariae-peresii grows individually between rocks and also in the sandy soil with bodies that reach a diameter of 16 to 22 centimeters. There are 17-23 ribs . The 6–8 thorns are up to 10–25 centimeters long. The cephalium, which is pillow-shaped in old age , is strongly black-bristled. The slender, narrow-leaved white flowers are 8-12 inches long and 6-8 inches wide. The fruits are 3.5 inches long. The black, humped seeds are 2 millimeters long.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Discocactus fariae-peresii is widespread in the Brazilian state of Goiás near the capital Brasilia. It was first described in 2016 by Pierre J. Braun .

Discocactus fariae-peresii is known to date from only three small habitats with a small number of individuals and is therefore classified as " critically endangered (CR) " based on the criteria of the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species . H. classified critically endangered.
