The Dithmarscher Landeszeitung ( DLZ ) is a regional daily newspaper based in Heide . The political orientation of the DLZ is conservative . The DLZ appears (with the respective specific 'regional department ') in Marne as Marner Zeitung , in Brunsbüttel as Brunsbütteler Zeitung and in the rest of southern Dithmarschen as Dithmarscher Kurier . It achieves a sold circulation of 22,506 copies.

history

The forerunner of the DLZ was the Heider Anzeiger . This appeared from January 4, 1870, initially three times a week. The political attitude of the Heider Anzeiger was initially close to the National Liberals. After the First World War , the newspaper's statements were clearly guided by conservative, anti-democratic values. During the Weimar Republic , the affinities to the German Nationals and the National Socialists became increasingly intense.

The Heider Zeitung was taken over by the Heider Anzeiger in 1905 . The circulation development of this left-liberal newspaper founded by Friedrich Pauly in 1879 was previously below that of the Heider Anzeiger. From 1887 to 1896 the print run rose from 800 to 1,500 copies. Also taken over by the Heider Anzeiger was the Dithmarscher Landeszeitung , which appeared in Meldorf in a circulation of 3,000 copies from 1926 and had a German national focus.

The Heider Anzeiger also appeared during the Second World War . After the press censorship in 1948 did not allow distribution, the newspaper did not appear again until 1949, then under the current name Dithmarscher Landeszeitung .

publishing company

The newspaper is published by Boyens Medien GmbH & Co. KG, which was founded in 1869. The media house Boyens & Co. is involved in numerous companies. Among other things, it holds shares in the private broadcaster Radio Schleswig-Holstein (R.SH), in the Telefonbuch verlag für Telekommunikation Nord (TKN) in Rostock and in the Blitz-Verlag in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

The company has 300 employees.

In front of the entrance to the DLZ publishing house there is a stumbling block in memory of Erich Böhlig, who worked as a proofreader at Heider Anzeiger , one of the forerunners of the DLZ, until 1933 .

Edition

The circulation sold has fallen by an average of 2.3% per year over the past 10 years. Last year it decreased by 3.1%. It is currently 22,506 copies.
