The 2009/10 season of Division 1 , the second highest French ice hockey division , was won by the Drakkars de Caen , who were promoted to the Ligue Magnus . The Chevaliers du Lac d'Annecy and the Galaxians d'Amnéville were relegated to Division 2 .

In the main round, the 14 teams played 26 games each. The eight best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs, in which the second division champions were played. The last two placed in the main round were relegated directly to Division 2. Each team received two points for a win after regular time and overtime, one point for a defeat after overtime and zero points for a defeat after normal time.
