The Djupkun Lake ( Russian Озеро Дюпкун , Osero Djupkun) is a lake on the Kotui in the Putorana Mountains , the northwest part of the Central Siberian Mountains in the Krasnoyarsk region , Siberia , Russia ( Asia ).

Geographical location

Lake Djupkun is located on average about 170 km north of the Arctic Circle in the southeast part of the Putorana Mountains. It extends in a north-west-south-east direction on the upper reaches of the Kotui River , the right source river of the Chatanga . While it is fed by this river and many mountain streams, the Kotui is its only drain. The lake is about 389  m above sea level. The mountains in the vicinity of the lake are a maximum of 1240  m (east of the southeastern part of the lake). There are no settlements either by the lake or in its vicinity.

Flora and fauna

Boreal coniferous forests thrive on the shores of Lake Djupkun ; the high elevations of the mountains surrounding the lake are determined by the tundra with its mosses and lichens . For example, perch fish , pike and salmon fish live in the fish-rich lake .
