Dmitri Bogrov (1910)

Dmitry Bogrov ( Russian Дмитрий Григорьевич Богров , also known Mordko Gerschkowitsch Bogrov known; born January 29, jul. / 10. February  1887 greg. In Kiev , † September 12 jul. / 25. September  1911 greg. In Kiev) was a law student , informant of the Russian secret police Okhrana in Kiev and murderer of the tsarist prime minister and reformer Pyotr Stolypin .

Bogrov came from a wealthy family of assimilated Jews . He studied law in Kiev and first established relationships with an anarchist group in 1906 . In 1907 he became an informant for the Okhrana secret service.

Bogrov gained the full confidence of the chief of the Kiev secret police, Lieutenant Colonel NN Kuljabko. From him he also received a ticket to an anniversary celebration in the Kiev Opera on September 1st jul. / September 14, 1911 greg. . In this way, Bogrow was able to secure entry to the guarded opera, in which Tsar Nicholas II was also present. From a Browning , Bogrow shot Stolypin, who was hit in the chest, injured his liver and left a fatal wound on his spine.

On September 9th Jul. / 22nd September 1911 greg. Bogrov was sentenced to death by hanging . The verdict was passed on September 12th . / September 25, 1911 greg. in the Kiev Fortress Lyssa Hora enforced .

The widow of Stolypin had worked in vain to spare the young life of the assassin. The investigation into the background of the attack stretched over a year. With the intervention of Nicholas II, further investigations were prohibited. It was not just the quick execution of the judgment that fueled numerous speculations about the background to the crime.

Some historians believe that the Kiev section of the Okhrana was related to this. However, evidence for this thesis has not yet been produced from the available documents.
