Life

Osten-Sacken took part in the wars against France from 1807 to 1812, later in the campaign against Persia (1826-1827) and then in the Russo-Turkish War of 1828. When the uprising in Poland broke out in 1831 , Osten-Sacken was to clarify the situation posted.

During the Crimean War , he helped siege the Silistra fortress and later served as the city's commander during the bombing of Odessa . Then he took part in the defense of Sevastopol and was temporarily commander in chief . In 1855 he was a Count applicable and the following year a member of the State Council appointed.

Dmitri Erofejewitsch Graf von der Osten-Sacken died on March 27, 1881 in the Kherson Governorate.
