Do That to Me One More Time is a 1979 song by Captain & Tennille , written by Toni Tennille and appearing on the album Make Your Move .
history
After their success, then under A&M Records , was running out in the late 1970s , Captain & Tennille signed a record deal with Casablanca Records under the direction of Neil Bogart . Do That to Me One More Time became their comeback, but due to the death of Bogart, the record contract could not be renewed and their successes could not be repeated. Singer and songwriter Toni Tennille played an electronic piano for Bogart in their home with her husband Daryl Dragon, the song's producer in Pacific Palisades , California . Bogart was enthusiastic and said: “This is a huge hit. There is no doubt about their first single with us. ”In addition, the duo recorded a Spanish-language version of the song entitled Ámame una vez más .
The release was on October 19, 1979. In the United States, the adult contemporary and pop song became a number one hit. The song was used in the episode The Conceited Roofer at the Simpsons .
