Amber (born Marie-Claire Cremers in Ubbergen , Netherlands , May 9, 1970 ) is a Dutch-German pop singer , songwriter and producer .

Career

Born in the Netherlands and raised in Germany , she started her musical career under the pseudonym Amber in 1996 , after having worked as a studio singer in the early 1990s. Her debut single This Is Your Night peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1996 . For the soundtrack for the film Studio 54 , she recorded the song If You Could Read My Mind together with Ultra Naté and Jocelyn Enriquez as Stars on 54 , which became an international success.

Amber had her greatest commercial solo success in 1999 with Sexual (Li Da Di) . This was followed by further publications, with which she reached high chart positions in the US dance charts. The song Love One Another , written by Amber, Billy Steinberg and Rick Nowels and covered by Cher , was nominated for a Grammy . Melt with the Sun was her twelfth top 10 hit on the US dance charts in 2006.

Together with Zelma Davis ( C + C Music Factory ) she released the duet No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) in 2008 , a cover version by Donna Summer and Barbra Streisand . In 2013, she was one of the headliners of the Stonewall Summer Pride in Wilton Manors , Florida . Amber is divorced and has one son.
