Adam Levine
Adam Noah Levine [ ləˈviːn ] (born March 18, 1979 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American singer , guitarist and occasional actor . He is known as the front man in the pop group Maroon 5 .
Life
Adam Levine grew up in a Jewish family and is the nephew of journalist Timothy Noah . He has two siblings and two half-siblings. As a child, he decided against a bar mitzvah . He was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder during his youth .
Levine was dating the Russian model Anne Vyalitsyna from 2010 to 2012 . On July 19, 2014, he married the Namibian model Behati Prinsloo in Mexico. They have two daughters together.
Adam plays the guitar and the drums.
The People magazine has named Levine in November 2013 as the " Sexiest Man Alive ".
On February 10, 2017, he received a star on the famous Walk of Fame in Hollywood.
Career
Kara's Flowers
Levine graduated from Brentwood High School, where he met the first members of the band Kara's Flowers . The band released their first album, The Fourth World , in 1997 . That same year the band appeared in an episode of Beverly Hills, 90210 . Despite all of this, the album never had much success, and even the single, Soap Disco, failed. While Levine was playing with Kara's Flowers , he sang in a deeper, stronger voice.
Maroon 5
When guitarist James Valentine joined the group, the band changed their name to Maroon 5. Levine's high and expressive voice helped the band hit the charts. The debut album Songs About Jane explores Levine's relationship with his ex-girlfriend Jane. Most of the lyrics of the songs were inspired by the torn relationship between the two, which is underlined by Levine's statement that every song contains at least one line that refers to Jane.
Solo career
In 2005 Levine worked with the Ying Yang Twins . In the same year he was on Kanye West's album Late Registration , heard on the third single release Heard 'Em Say . He also sang the Rolling Stones classic Wild Horses with Alicia Keys on their MTV Unplugged . In 2010 he can be heard as a singer on the album Slash by the former Guns-N'-Roses guitarist of the same name in the piece Gotten . In the following year he recorded the song Stereo Hearts with the band Gym Class Heroes , which was able to place well in the international charts, as well as the single My Life , which was released in 2012 . The latter was recorded with 50 cents as well as Eminem .
Acting / TV appearances
He has been a member of The Voice's jury since 2011 . The winner of the first season, Javier Colon , was also on Adam Levine's team.
In March 2012 he got a role in the second season of the horror series American Horror Story . He also starred in 2013 on the side of Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo in the movie Can a Song Save Your Life? .
