The Lonely Island
The Lonely Island is an American comedy troupe and band consisting of Andy Samberg , Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone . The trio is originally from the California city of Berkeley . For a while now, she has been living in New York .
prehistory
The three members of The Lonely Island grew up in Berkeley and met in high school there. During their school days, they started parodying and spinning. They parted ways after high school. Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer first went to university in Santa Cruz together . After a while, however, Samberg went to New York. Jorma Taccone went to university in Los Angeles. After graduating from college, Samberg returned from New York and the three of them moved into an apartment in Los Angeles they called The Lonely Island . They started making videos with two other friends ( Chester Tam and Jonah Goldstein ) and uploading them to their website.
Lorne Michaels from Saturday Night Live (SNL) was intrigued by these parodies and invited the three to the show. Inspired by this, they wrote the song Lazy Sunday , which immediately enjoyed great success on the Internet.
Since 2006
The group's first single was recorded in 2006 with Justin Timberlake - an R&B parody titled Dick in a Box . After that, parodies of rap songs such as Like a Boss , I'm on a Boat and Jizz in My Pants were released, which were also performed very successfully on the Internet and on Saturday Night Live. The first album Incredibad was released on February 10, 2009 .
In August 2007, Taccone, Schaffer and Samberg starred in the movie Hot Rod . Schaffer was also the director of the film. On December 18, 2010, the single I Just Had Sex was released , which was recorded with the American musician Akon . Another single with Nicki Minaj was released on January 29, 2011. On May 10, 2011, the group's second album was released under the title Turtleneck & Chain . In addition, her third album, The Wack Album , was released on June 11, 2013 .
