Plavka

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Plavka (born March 25, 1968 , bourgeois Plavka Lonich ) is a pop / dance singer from Los Angeles who now lives in London and performs in jazz clubs there. She became known as a singer with The Shamen and Jam & Spoon .

Career

Her first big success was the 1993 single Right in the Night . It was their first cooperation with the trance DJ duo Jam & Spoon . The mixing of trance elements with acoustic guitar and their vocals made the production successful in the charts as well as in the clubs . The included bonus track Follow Me became a trance classic.

In 1993 she and Jam & Spoon released two albums : Tripomatic Fairy Tales 2001 and Tripomatic Fairy Tales 2002 . 2001 is characterized by dance / trance elements. 2002 has ambient influences. Both albums were well received by critics and audiences. In the years that followed, Jam & Spoon focused primarily on the recipe for success of Right in the Night and they managed to achieve high chart positions several times, in 1997 the album Kaleidoscope was released .

In 2004 the album Tripomatic Fairy Tales 3003 was released. Here, too, Plavka took part in the Duo Jam & Spoon.

After Mark Spoon's death , Plavka and Jam El Mar also split, interrupting their career as a trio. She then took part in several other songs as a singer. Among them were the singles Every Little Thing with River Munzur and Surrender with J Nitti.

In April 2013, a remake EP of the successful song Right in the Night was released , which contains remixes from numerous European dance projects and DJs. These include Groove Coverage , the Michael Mind Project , David May and the Bodybangers .
