Dobrin Spassow

Dobrin Spassow ( Bulgarian : Добрин Спасов ; * 1926 in Berkowiza , Montana Oblast , Bulgaria ; † September 17, 2010 ) was a Bulgarian philosopher , university professor and politician .

biography

After finishing school, Spassow studied philosophy at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Sofia . He received his doctorate in 1950 .

He then embarked on an academic career at the University of Sofia, first becoming a research assistant in 1951 and then a lecturer in 1961 . In 1972 he accepted the call as professor at the chair for philosophy. At times he was also dean of the Faculty of Philosophy. As a university lecturer, he dealt in particular with the topics of logic , epistemology and contemporary philosophy . He was also the editor of the journal Философска мисъл (Philosophical Thinking) and published several monographs in addition to a textbook .

In 1984 he was appointed a corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences .

Spassov, who was a member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party , was a member of the National Assembly ( Narodno Sabranie ) from July 1990 to November 1994 .
