The range of services provided by Doka ranges from the provision of formwork systems and components for civil building construction to the provision of technically sophisticated and flexible formwork systems for bridge construction, tunnel construction, infrastructure construction and high-rise construction. In addition, Doka formwork systems are used for architecturally demanding fair-faced concrete projects that value a special concrete appearance.
Current reference projects by Doka include the Varso Tower in Warsaw / Poland, the Voest Bridge in Linz / Austria, the Katara Towers hotel complex in Qatar, the E4 Bypass Stockholm infrastructure project in Sweden and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida / USA.
The name "Doka" is derived from the Austrian Danube power plants ( DOKW for short , pronounced do-ka-weh), for which the first formwork panels were supplied in the 1950s.
history
In 1958 the Austrian company Doka was founded and three years later the German subsidiary. In 1965 the company developed a large-area formwork with only three system parts and in 1971 the first climbing formwork. In 1977 branches were opened in Brazil and Kuwait . In 1985, the Framax panel formwork system came onto the market. In 1990, a dedicated research and development center was set up in Amstetten, which continuously deals with the testing of new materials (e.g. concrete formulations) and the development of future-oriented products and services.
In 1999 Doka achieved sales of ATS 5 billion for the first time. In 2002 Doka took over the US formwork manufacturer Conesco. In 2012, Doka further developed the slab formwork systems on the market and launched the new Dokadek 30 element slab formwork. In 2015, Doka took over the manufacture of formwork panels from Wiehag .
