Dolibarr ERP / CRM is an open source software for small and medium-sized companies, organizations or the self-employed. In addition to various functions such as resource planning ( ERP ) and customer relationship management ( CRM ), the system also includes other options for a wide variety of applications in the business sector.

Functions

The modules and extensions of the web-based application can be activated or deactivated as required. The software is free of charge under the GNU General Public License 3.0. The application can be used online at any time. Dolibarr's goal is to provide a simple, open source ERP and CRM solution for people with no technical knowledge.

Dolibarr includes all the important functions of an ERP / CRM solution. The application is modular and stands out for its user-friendliness, despite the large number of functionalities.

Modules

Main modules of Dolibarr include:

Others

System requirements

  • MySQL 4.1 or higher is required
  • PHP 5.5 or higher is required

Missing functions

These functions are not available as standard in Dolibarr (but partly via external modules that are subject to a fee):

  • Personnel management (is in development & there are extensions (modules))
  • Webmailer (not to be confused with a mailing list)
  • Production management (PPS) - (there are external modules for this)

Many other (missing) functions can be retrofitted using external modules from third-party providers.

architecture

Dolibarr is programmed in PHP . It uses MySQL databases, alternatively also MariaDB or PostgreSQL .

Dolibarr can also be installed on Windows, Mac or Linux with the help of an auto installer. This function should enable users without technical knowledge to use Dolibarr on basic applications (Apache, MySQL and PHP).

The version has the product name DoliWamp for Windows systems, DoliDeb for Debian or Ubuntu and DoliRpm for Fedora, Redhat and OpenSuse.

history

The Dolibarr project was started in April 2002 by Rodolphe Quiedeville. At this point he started programming the Foundation Management module. Version 1.0 was published in September 2003.

In July 2008 Laurent Destailleur - the author of AWStats - took over the position of chief developer. Numerous support organizations and groups have been set up in several countries. The first country was France - the country where Dolibarr is most widespread - with the Association Dolibarr (2009). Dolibarr's popularity rose in France after it was distributed free of charge to startups by some government agencies.

In 2015 the Dolibarr e. V. founded in Germany.

The software is used in many countries today.
