Dolisie , formerly Loubomo between 1975 and 1991, is a city in the southern Republic of the Congo and the capital of the Niari region . In 2006 it had 110,128 inhabitants according to official estimates.
The city emerged from a station on the Chemin de fer Congo-Océan (CFCO) railway between Pointe-Noire and Brazzaville and was named after Albert Dolisie , a lieutenant of Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza . The city near the border with the Angolan exclave Cabinda was - and still is - a railway junction and third largest city in the country. In 1975, she was under the Africanization in Loubomo renamed. In 1997 and 1999, as a result of the civil war, numerous people from rural areas fled to the city, which caused its population to continue to grow. Dolisie has an airport .
