The Dolmen Pierre Couverte of Pontigné (also called "Dolmen de la Pierre" or La Pierre Couverte de Bauge) is located east of Baugé-en-Anjou in the northeast of the Maine-et-Loire department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

A dolmen of the same name Pierre Couverte is located in the Sarthe department .

The Angevin-type dolmen stands in a clearing and consists of 13 sandstone stones . It has an approximately 5.0 × 3.0 m measuring almost head-high chamber with a portico in front and is one of the best preserved examples of its kind in the region. The rectangular chamber is covered by two ceiling panels that rest on six supporting stones. It has the narrowed entrance in the east, formed by two supports and a capstone, about 2.5 m long and 1.5 m wide. Another plate should perhaps close the portal.
