Dolmen de la Barbière

The Dolmen de la Barbière is a ten-meter-long, partially ruined allée couverte . It lies southeast of Crossac in Brière in the Loire-Atlantique in the Region Pays de la Loire . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The chamber is about 4.0 meters long and 3.0 meters wide. It consists of several orthostats, three of which have a large capstone. The rest of the complex is formed by a double row of orthostats, some of which are accompanied by fallen cap stones.

The megalithic complex was Christianized, on one of the stones there is a cross and the menhir du Bois Hoël .

The Dolmen de la Barbière is not far from Route Bleue et Megalithes , an archaeological path with eight dolmens and three menhirs that begins northwest of St. Nazaire at La Chapelle-des-Marais and ends at Pornic . Among them are the Tumulus of Dissignac , the Tumulus of Mousseaux , the Dolmen du Pré d'Air and the Dolmen de la Joselière .
