Dolmen du Cruguellic

The Dolmen du Cruguellic (also called Moulin du Motte , Tumulus du Moulin du Motte and Tumulus de la Motte ) is located west of Ploemeur and east of the suburb Fort-Bloqué, near Lorient in the Morbihan department in Brittany in France .

The Dolmen du Cruguellic is a dolmen with side chambers , as it is e.g. B. to Pornic in the Loire-Atlantique department ( Dolmen de la Joselière , Dolmen du Pré d'Air , Tumulus von Mousseaux , Tumulus du Moulin de la Motte ). "Dolmen" is the generic term in France for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

This megalithic construction is characterized by an interior design in which the side chambers are symmetrically located on a corridor that leads to the head chamber. The number of side chambers usually varies between 1 and 4. In this case there are five.

The approximately 10.5 m long and 7.0 m wide dolmen was initially covered by a square cairn with a side length of about 20.0 m, framed by dry masonry . Two orthostats have a decoration.

The ornamentation of the dolmen can be seen as an intermediate stage between the art of the allées couvertes and the "dolmen à coudé" (angled dolmen).

To the north are the heavily disturbed dolmens of Saint-Adrien and Locmiquel-Méné. To the south lies the Tuchenn Pol dolmen .
