The Dolmen du Puech de Mielgues shown on the IGN map has a special shape that does not correspond to the usual dolmen . It fits more to an earth stable , although the age is still unclear. It is located near Gatuzières (from where it is difficult to reach) on the Causse Méjean , a limestone plateau in the Massif Central in the Lozère department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The zigzag construction, covered by vegetation, consists of a corridor system with a width of only 60 cm and a maximum height of 1.5 m. The ends are open and only 40 cm high due to seeping earth. The central area of the dry masonry corridor is almost completely covered by slabs.

The presumed entrance was in the southeast. Every 1.5 m, the corridor turns, always at right angles, a total of three times to the south-east and north-west.

The corridor may extend further to the southwest, but the thick vegetation does not allow it to be seen. The current access arose due to the collapse of the structure. It is clear that the tunnel below the hill was not filled.
