The Dolmen of Grovlegård (also Agri Dysse called) on Mols in Djursland in the eastern part of Jutland in Denmark located west of the village of Agri. Apart from the capstone, which is very large with 3.7 × 3.1 m and weighs about 19 tons, it is a well-preserved round dysse, similar to other polygonal dolms in Denmark. The hexagonal dolmen with the five bearing stones was visited by many archaeologists, including Sophus Müller (1846–1934), who placed it under protection in 1877.

description

The bearing stones are partially in the hill, which is 14 m in diameter and has a remaining height of 1.5 m. The chamber is half filled with earth. 16 curbs of the hill have been preserved, but partially sunk and overgrown.

Investigations have shown that the capstone forms one half of a boulder, the other half of which is on the Poskær Stenhus round dyke two kilometers to the south . It is not possible to determine with certainty whether the stone was made by the carriers of the funnel beaker culture (TBK) who lived the dolmens between 3500 and 2800 BC. Was built in BC, divided. It may also have been split by frost. However, split stones are also known from other dolmens and passage graves (e.g. Troldhøj (Stenstrup) ). The ground plans of the megalithic complexes Grønnehøj and Ubby Dysselod even match completely. The two passage graves are 70 meters apart and are real twins.
