The Dolomite bellflower ( Campanula morettiana ) is a species of the genus bellflower ( Campanula ).
features
Dolomite bellflower is in flat lawn and cushions growing perennial plant reached, the plant height 3-8 centimeters. The stem is short, ascending and usually single-flowered. There is almost bristle hair on the leaves, petioles and calyx. The basal leaves are broad-oval to heart-shaped , long-stalked and serrated . The stem leaves are oval and narrow into the stem, the upper leaves are sessile. The flowers are terminal, 20 to 30 millimeters long, bell-shaped and funnel-shaped and usually blue to red-purple, rarely white. There are short, triangular tips. The calyx usually has no appendages in the bays, its tips are lanceolate and mostly protruding.
The flowering period extends from August to September.
Occurrence
The Dolomite bellflower is endemic to the Dolomites . It grows in the cracks and crevices of vertical or overhanging limestone rocks in the subalpine to alpine level at altitudes of 1500 to 2300 meters.
