Dolomiti

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dolomiti is a brand for ice cream places of Langnese .

The popsicle has the shape of a mountain with three peaks and is supposed to represent the Three Peaks in the Italian Dolomites ( Italian Dolomiti ). It consists of three layers from top to bottom of white, red and green ice cream in the flavors lemon, raspberry and woodruff , which symbolize the national colors of Italy .

Dolomiti, which was sold for 50 pfennigs in the Federal Republic of Germany , has enjoyed great popularity since its introduction in 1973, but was finally removed from the range in 1987 after 14 years.

Dolomiti remained unforgettable among customers for decades, as the media reported in the past. In 1994 Langnese reintroduced the ice cream, but the hoped-for success did not materialize, so that it was removed from the range in 1995. Buyers had complained that the new edition could not match the original in terms of color or taste. The red middle layer tasted like strawberry and the green lower layer had been replaced by gooseberry . In January 2014, Langnese announced ice cream as “Comeback of the Year”. According to the product homepage, Dolomiti should come back to the ice cream counters with "original woodruff flavor". The new edition, however, looked a little different than the original version. For example, the outer shape of the ice has been changed: if the original had the smallest of the three peaks in the middle, they are now arranged according to size. In addition, they have been rounded at the top, whereas they used to be much more jagged. In addition, the current Dolomiti version is much paler in color than the original, which has been provided with artificial coloring. In terms of taste, too, the current Dolomiti reminds little of the original, as fruit extracts are mainly used today instead of artificial flavors.
