Dolores Pacileo

Dolores Pacileo (* 1944 in New York City ) is an American installation artist who lives and works in St. James (New York) .

Life

Dolores Pacileo studied from 1964 to 1966 at the School of Visual Arts , from 1967 to 1971 at the Pratt Institute and in 1972 did his Masters at the Goddard Graduate School , Plainfield. Equipped with a Fulbright scholarship , she spent 1972 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . She received her PhD from Antioch University in Yellow Springs . In 1974 Pacileo's first solo exhibition "Botanical Art" took place in the Museum Ostwall in Dortmund. Pacileo was a founding member of the Museum of Contemporary Art for Children in Suffolk County in 1976 and the director of that museum.

For documenta 6 , Dolores Pacileo developed the work "Flipper (play area for children)", which was installed under the terrace "Schöne Aussicht" on a sloping meadow slope. On an area of ​​26 m in diameter there was a circular play area made up of simple shapes and bright colors, which appealed to all the senses of children of all ages.
