Domingo Rey d'Harcourt

Domingo Rey d'Harcourt (* 1883 in Calamocha , Aragón , Spain ; † February 7, 1939 in Ponts de Molins, Girona , Catalonia , Spain) was a Spanish army officer.

He was a colonel in the artillery and joined the revolt against the Second Spanish Republic ( Spanish Civil War ). During the war he was in command of the French garrison of Teruel . During the Battle of Teruel he defended the city until the surrender on January 8, 1938.

He was then imprisoned for treason against the republic, first in Valencia and later in Barcelona . During the nationalists' Catalonia offensive , he was deported to the French border and murdered there with 42 other prisoners, including Anselmo Polanco , the Bishop of Teruel.
