Dominic James Howard (born December 7, 1977 in Stockport ) is the drummer for the British rock band Muse .

Career

When Howard was eight years old, he moved to Teignmouth with his family . At the age of eleven, inspired by the school jazz band, he began playing the drums. The school band became Howard's first band. When the position of guitarist became vacant, Matt Bellamy joined the project, which a short time later was renamed Gothic Plague and with the entry of bassist Christopher Wolstenholme into Rocket Baby Dolls and finally into Muse .

Awards

Dominic Howard was recognized with Muse at the Grammy Awards , MTV Music Awards , BRIT Awards , NME Awards, and Q Awards .

On September 26, 2008 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Plymouth , along with Bellamy and Wolstenholme , for their musical merits.
