Dominic Kokkat
Dominic Kokkat CST (born February 23, 1932 in Vaikon , Kerala ) is a former Roman Catholic bishop .
Kokkat joined the Little Flower Congregation in 1953 . He attended seminaries in Kandy ( Sri Lanka ) and in Pune . He was ordained a priest on October 4, 1960 and from then on worked for his order in various positions. After he was appointed bishop of the newly founded Gorakhpur Eparchy in June 1984 , Kokkat received episcopal ordination on October 4 of the same year and took office on October 14. Because of his admiration for Therese von Lisieux and his own religious experience, he founded the Congregation of the Little Sisters of St. Therese (LST) in 1988 . In July 2006, Kokkat resigned from office due to age. The new bishop of Gorakhpur was his friar Thomas Thuruthimattam .
