Thomas Thuruthimattam
Thomas Thuruthimattam CST (born April 22, 1947 ) is a Roman Catholic bishop .
Thuruthimattam joined on May 17, 1965 and was ordained a priest on December 21, 1973. He studied at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven . The first four years after his ordination he was active for his order in Kerala . Thuruthimattam then spent two years in the Gorakhpur Mission from 1977 to 1979 and worked in Augsburg from 1979 to 1982 . He then became rector of the Diocesan Minor Seminary in Gorakhpur (1983–1986) and took on various other tasks.
Since 2003 he has been the superior general of his order. On July 15, 2006, Thuruthimattam was appointed bishop of Gorakhpur , replacing his friar Dominic Kokkat . On October 1, 2006, the episcopal ordination took place by Cardinal Varkey Vithayathil , the Grand Archbishop of Ernakulam-Angamaly .
