Donté Dominic Greene (born February 21, 1988 in Munich ) is an American basketball player .
Career
High school and college
Greene graduated from Towson Catholic High School, where he was named McDonald's All American in 2006/07 . 2007/08 he attended as a freshman the Syracuse University in Syracuse , New York, for their team, he on both Forward was established positions.
NBA
In the 2008 NBA Draft , he was selected in 28th place by the Memphis Grizzlies , but was immediately transferred to the Houston Rockets , with whom he completed the summer preparation.
In July 2008, he joined the Sacramento Kings as part of the transfer for Ron Artest . In his first season he was used in 55 games and scored an average of 3.8 points. Ultimately, Greene was never able to fully prevail with the Kings and received no new offer from the Kings after his contract expired in 2012.
National team
Greene was used for several junior national teams in the USA. In 2006 he became U18 world champion with the USA. Since Greene was born in Germany, there was speculation in March 2009 that Greene would be playing for the German national basketball team because he allegedly had German citizenship . On March 27, 2009, however , national coach Dirk Bauermann announced that Greene would not play for Germany.
