Dominik Greger

Dominik Greger (born November 27, 1980 in Altenburg ) is a German double bass player .

Life

Dominik Greger grew up in Altenburg and received cello lessons at an early age . As a cellist, he was a student in Wolfgang Weber's junior class at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music in Leipzig. He then studied double bass with Horst-Dieter Wenkel at the Liszt School of Music Weimar and graduated with the concert exam.

In addition to his studies, various courses were added, including a. with Wolfgang Güttler , Klaus Stoll and Norbert Brainin . During his studies he was a scholarship holder of the PE-Förderkreis Mannheim. Greger can point to numerous competition successes, including a. at the 2nd International "Johann Matthias Sperger Competition" 2002, as a semi-finalist at the 52nd International ARD Competition 2003, the advancement award of the "Carl Flesch Academy" Baden-Baden and the 2nd prize at the International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen 2005. Since 2009 he has been professor of double bass at the Liszt School of Music Weimar and has made guest appearances as solo double bass with the Symphony Orchestra of the Central German Radio , the Staatskapelle Berlin , the Bavarian State Orchestra of the Munich Opera , the Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart , the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Symphony Orchestra of West German Broadcasting . He also gives master classes and is a juror in international and national competitions.
