Dominikus Dietrich (clergyman)

Dominikus Josef Dietrich OPraem (born December 30, 1871 in Hall in Tirol , † October 26, 1951 in Innsbruck ) was a Premonstratensian canon and member of the Austrian National Council .

In 1889 Dominikus Dietrich joined the Premonstratensian Canons of Wilten Abbey in Innsbruck. He was ordained a priest on July 26, 1894. In the monastery he worked as a teacher of philosophy and dogmatics from 1894 to 1930. From 1910 to 1914 he was novice master , from 1914 to 1933 prior . He worked as pastor of Wilten from 1930 to 1951.

He was Vice President of the Red Cross and founder of the Notburgaheim (a home for maids) in Innsbruck. In 1921 he became a member of the K.Ö.HV Leopoldina Innsbruck . From 1928, on his joint instigation with Prof. Rudolf Schlenz sen. A parish was set up on the Hungerburg , initially with the former Würth garden house as an emergency church. The Theresienkirche was built in 1931/32 .

From September 2 to November 20, 1923 he was a member of the Christian Social Party (CS) to the Austrian National Council .
