Dominion is an Australian documentary from the year 2018 . The film exposes the myriad ways animals are used and abused. A total of six facets are highlighted - pets, wildlife, scientific research, entertainment, clothing and food. Dominion aspires to question the rule of humans over the animal kingdom.

The production of the documentary was funded through two crowdfunding campaigns that raised $ 19,796 and € 57,710, respectively, and by the Australian animal rights organization Voiceless . The film was able to win some well-known speakers, including the actors Joaquin Phoenix , Rooney Mara and Sadie Sink , as well as the singer Sia .

In Berlin , the film was shown once on August 29, 2018 in the Rollberg cinema on the big screen.

Summary

Dominion describes in 18 chapters how different animal species are used and abused in different ways. The selection ranges from pigs to dogs, horses and camels. The number of animals affected is shown in each chapter. The documentary tells how the individual processes work. The recordings come from drones as well as hidden and portable cameras.
