Bruno Bulic

Bruno Bulić (born March 6, 1958 in Pula ) is a former Yugoslav cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Bulić started for the club Siporex Pula after he started cycling in 1972. He took part in the Summer Olympics twice. In 1980 in Moscow he was 50th in the individual race and fifth in the team time trial with the Yugoslav team . 1984 in Los Angelos he only drove the team time trial and was classified eighth with his team. At the Mediterranean Games in 1979, he won the bronze medal in the road race. He won the Yugoslav championship in road racing in 1978, and was runner-up in 1979 and 1981. In 1978 (in this race he retired) and 1981 he started in the International Peace Tour and was classified 42nd in 1981 .

The stage race Jadranska Magistrala (later the Istrian Spring Trophy ) won Bulić in 1981. In 1984 he won the Yugoslavia Tour at home . In 1986 he signed a professional contract with Magniflex in Italy , but was unable to achieve any major success as a professional driver . In 1986 he drove the Giro d'Italia and was 26th in the final ranking. In his 15-year career, Bruno Bulić won eight national (Yugoslav) titles (four in the amateur class and four in the junior category) in mountain, road and time trial races . He also won cyclo-cross races where he had 27 successes.
