Jože Šebenik
Jože Šebenik (born March 9, 1937 in Ljubljana , † April 1, 2009 in Notranje Gorice ) was a Yugoslav cyclist and national champion in cycling .
Athletic career
In 1961 he was able to finish second in the Tour of Bulgaria, placing himself on the podium for the first time in an international tour of the country. He had previously contested the Tour of Austria in 1957 and was classified there as 20th. Šebenik won the Yugoslav championship in road racing in 1962 (he was runner-up in 1961) and was third in the domestic tour of Yugoslavia and in the spring was second in the tour of Egypt behind Lothar Appler from the GDR . He drove the International Peace Tour three times and achieved his best result in 1962 with 32nd place. At the UCI Road World Championships he was at the start in 1961 and was 41st in the road race. He started for the Rog Ljubljana club .
